Childcare vouchers changed from 6th April 2011.
From 6th April parents who are higher rate tax payers will only be able to take £28 per week in childcare vouchers and additional rate tax payers will be restricted to £22 per week.
Basic rate tax payers will still be able to take the full allowance of £55 per week.
Key facts:
- The changes only apply to parents joining the scheme after April 2011.
- There will be no changes to the savings that can be made by parents who are on the scheme prior to April 2011 (unless dictated by changes to Tax and NIC’s).
Childcare vouchers can be used for a huge variety of child care for children up to the age of 15 – including the care element of boarding school fees, nannies, out of hours school clubs, summer camps and nurseries.
